Dr. Jonathan Montoya

Dr. Jonathan Montoya is a specialized implant and cosmetic dentist with an emphasis on advanced surgical dentistry, full-arch fixed implant rehabilitation, and sedation-based care. His clinical approach prioritizes precision, efficiency, and patient comfort while managing complex surgical and restorative cases.

Early in his career, Dr. Montoya spent three years working alongside renowned dental researcher Gordon Christensen at Clinicians Report®, where he developed a strong foundation in dental materials science, evidence-based dentistry, and advanced clinical decision-making—experience that continues to inform his surgical and restorative protocols today.

Dr. Montoya earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after completing undergraduate studies in Business Management at Utah Valley University. Following dental school, he trained in a high-volume clinical environment, gaining accelerated experience across a broad range of surgical and restorative procedures.

He has completed extensive postdoctoral education in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, facial esthetics, and sedation. Dr. Montoya is a Fellow of the International Congress of Implantology, an Implant Pathways Fellow, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an Accredited Member of the Academy of Facial Esthetics, and a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has completed advanced oral and IV sedation training under Drs. Stanley Malamed and Ken Reed.

Dr. Montoya is a graduate of the Kois Center, where he received advanced training in comprehensive treatment planning, occlusion, interdisciplinary care, and evidence-based restorative dentistry. This Kois-based framework allows him to integrate surgical precision with long-term restorative stability and predictable full-arch outcomes.

Dr. Montoya is actively involved in international dental education as a partner and faculty member with ORCAA, where he helps develop and teach advanced implant surgery, digital workflows, and full-arch immediate load protocols. He is recognized for his expertise in full-arch fixed implant rehabilitation, immediate loading, and complex treatment planning for atrophic and high-risk cases. He helps manage education centers in Guatemala, Brazil, and Egypt.

He currently serves as a roving implant specialist for multiple practices throughout Florida and is a Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where he teaches general dentistry and participates in community outreach. He also obtained his MBA from UF.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Montoya enjoys time with his three sons—Jett, Jaden, and Noah—as well as outdoor pursuits, travel, and music.
